UFC 182 Medical Suspensions: Marquardt and Three Others Possibly Out for Six Months
The Nevada Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions stemming from UFC 182, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Jan. 3. Four fighters from the card face up to a six-month suspension.
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defended his belt against Daniel Cormier in the night's main event. Cormier faces a three-week medical suspension, while Jones was issued no medically related time off.
Jones, however, has since landed in a firestorm of controversy over a failed Dec. 4 out-of-competition drug test, for which he tested positive for the main metabolite for cocaine.

UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier Medical Suspensions
Daniel Cormier received a three-week suspension following his decision loss to Jon Jones in the main event. Cormier can’t compete until Jan. 25 and have no contact until Jan. 14.
Nate Marquardt must have his right ankle cleared by a doctor or be sidelined until July 3. If the ankle is cleared by a doctor, Marquardt can return on Feb. 3. Due to a laceration to his right cheek, he can’t have any contact until Jan. 25.
Louis Gaudinot must have his left hand cleared by a doctor or be out of action until July 3. He received a minimum suspension of 30 days with no contact until Jan. 25.
Josh Burkman was suspended for three weeks following his decision loss to Hector Lombard. He can’t compete until Jan. 25 or have any contact until Jan. 18.
Danny Castillo received six-week suspension following his knockout loss. He can’t compete until Feb. 18 and have no contact until Feb. 3.
Paul Felder must have his right foot cleared by a doctor or face a six-month suspension that would put him out of action until July 3. If the foot is cleared after being evaluated, Felder can compete again on Jan. 18, but can’t have any contact until Jan. 14.
Cody Gambrandt could be sidelined until July 3 if he doesn’t get his right hand cleared by a doctor. If the hand is not injured, Felder only faces a three-week suspension with no contact until Jan. 18.
Marcus Brimage was suspended until Feb. 18 with no contact until Feb. 3 following his TKO los to Gambrandt.
Jared Cannonier can’t compete until Feb. 3 or have any contact until Jan. 25.
Shawn Jordan received a six-week suspension. He can’t compete until Feb. 18. He can’t have any contact until Feb. 3 due to a right eyebrow laceration.
Rodrigo Damm is out for six-weeks. He can’t compete until Feb. 18 or have any contact until Feb. 3.
Omari Akhmedov must have a follow-up comparison MRI for an arachnoid cyst within the next two years.
Alexis Dufresne received a six-week suspension following the event. She can’t compete until Feb. 18 and have no contact until Feb. 3.
