UC Davis suspends baseball team and places coaching staff on leave amid investigation

The UC Davis baseball program has been placed on suspension by the administration department, according to a statement released by the university on Wednesday.

The university cited "allegations of misconduct," as the reason for the suspension. The coaching was placed on administrative leave and the team will remain suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, the release said.

"We are committed to conducting a thorough assessment to determine the best path forward to provide a safe and inclusive experience for all team members," the release said.

The review is expected to last for the first few months of the fall quarter, the school said.

It is not known when team activities, including practices, will start.

The UC Davis baseball program finished last in the Big West Conference after going 8-32 in the conference and 14-43 overall.
