Two-time champs, up-and-comers: Our Rugby All-Scholastics
The boys rugby season once again ended with Weymouth celebrating a championship.
The Wildcats rolled to a second straight Division 2 state crown, scoring narrow wins over local rivals Braintree and Hanover and then pulverizing Algonquin, 57-14, in the state final.
Hanover was the only team to beat Weymouth this spring, winning a rematch of the 2022 state title game, 26-24, before the Wildcats avenged that loss in the playoffs.
Weymouth's girls team also made the playoffs, losing in the semifinals to eventual champ Belmont.
