Twitter reacts to Notre Dame’s latest loss to Florida State

Former NHL coach Jim Schoenfeld once famously shouted at referee Don Koharski to “have another doughnut” (go look it up; it’s hilarious). Mike Brey might want to refrain from saying that to his players anytime soon after bringing Krispy Kreme to Sunday’s team workout. That’s because the treat did nothing to improve Notre Dame’s rotten season. What else to say after an 84-71 loss to Florida State?

The Irish (9-10, 1-7) missed their first seven shots, many of them layups, and the Seminoles (6-13, 4-4) took advantage by jumping out to a 13-0 lead and never looking back. Sure, the Irish cut the deficit to six a couple times late in both halves, but the hole was too big to dig out of. Now, they’re under .500 for the first time this season after losing eight of their past 10 games.

Irish fans are not amused, and they’ve taken to Twitter to snark, criticize, lament and just plain express unhappiness with how this season has gone. So instead of subjecting you to further details about this latest disaster, here are a few of the best tweets about the Irish during and after the game:
