Twitter reactions during Cowboys loss, Dak Prescott’s injury

The Dallas Cowboys 2022 campaign got off to a solid start and quickly went downhill from there. Their opening drive led to a successful field goal attempt by Brett Maher, but the offense would not score again the rest of the game.

Dropping their home opener, 19-3, there were plenty of interesting reactions to the few highs, several lows, debilitating injuries like QB Dak Prescott’s hand, and everything else in between.

 

The field goal is good!

On the opening drive of the game the Cowboys offense drives down field leading to a 51 yard field goal attempt for Brett Maher. Cowboys lead 3-0:

Defense: 3rd and 1 stop by Demarcus Lawrence

After the Cowboys took a 3-0, lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drove downfield and faced a 3rd-and-1.

Defense: Micah Parsons sack on 3rd and 5 on the DAL 18

Down 6-3 the Cowboys defense was faced with a 3rd and 5 on the Dallas 18 yard line. The Second-year linebacker came off the edge and sacked Tom Brady for a 10-yard loss.

Following an interception by Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, the defense came onto the field with Tampa Bay starting on the Dallas 23 yard line. Facing a 3rd and 3 from the DAL 4, Tampa QB Tom Brady is sacked by Micah Parsons.

Offense: Penalties continue to put the Cowboys behind the sticks

Right tackle Terence Steele is penalized twice in a three play span for false starts while the offense continues to struggle following a Tampa Bay Bucs touchdown, down 19-3. The crowd makes sure their displeasure is heard.

Offense: Boo birds continue following a miss by Dak Prescott.

Following an interception by safety Donovan Wilson the Cowboys offense goes three and out on an incomplete pass to Noah Brown.

Offense: When it rains it pours

Already down starting left guard Connor McGovern, Dallas loses quarterback Dak Prescott to a thumb injury.

Postgame reactions

Despite the best efforts of the defense to bend but not break, the Cowboys offense was unable to sustain anything after their opening drive. Racking up injuries, penalties, sacks and incompletions the nation had a mixed reaction of thoughts.
