AUSTIN, Texas — Kansas State's football team faces Texas on Saturday in a game with major Big 12 championship implications.

The Wildcats (6-2 overall) and Longhorns (7-1) are part of a five-way tie for first place in the conference and the winner will remain in the race for a spot in the Big 12 championship game on Dec. 2 in Arlington, Texas, while the path narrows considerably for the loser.

K-State has won three straight games to remain in contention while Texas has rebounded from a loss to Oklahoma to win its last two.

Texas opened as a touchdown favorite, but the line has shrunk to 3.5 with Longhorns starting quarterback sidelined by a shoulder injury.
