That was exemplified at the last AFCON where they scrambled out of their group as a third-placed runner-up before defeating Nigeria in the last 16, only to then get knocked out by Burkina Faso.

Up first are a Namibia side preparing for only their fourth run at the Cup of Nations.

Managed by former Hamburg defender Collin Benjamin, the Brave Warriors have made themselves a tough team to beat and held Ghana to a draw to warm up in their pre-tournament friendly.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Tunisia vs Namibia is scheduled for a 5pm GMT kick-off today, Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Tunisia vs Namibia team news

Tunisia are without Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri for AFCON after the young midfielder opted to focus on his club career this month, and is on the verge of joining Sevilla on loan.

Sheffield United's Anis Ben Slimane will provide plenty of strength in the engine room with experienced duo Naim Sliti and captain Youssef Msakni trusted to fire up their attack.

Namibia's squad is almost entirely made up of African-based players with Derby defender Ryan Nyambe joining others who play their club football in Kosovo and Malaysia.
