Tuesday's Top Prep Performers from six spring sports

Highlights from Tuesday in high school sports:

BASEBALL

  • Jacob Roa scattered seven hits and gave up just run while striking out four in a complete-game performance, Hunter Cervantes and Gavin Samora each went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Austin DeMello was 1 for 3 with two RBIs, Mario Franco finished 3 for 4, Rob Rodriguez went 2 for 3 with a double, and Daniel Banuelos had a double and an RBI to lead Rio Mesa (6-4-1, 3-2) to a 6-1 victory over Buena in a Channel League game. Erick Barron went 3 for 3, Elijah Garcia had a double, and Jayden Macias had an RBI for the Bulldogs (1-9, 1-4).

  • Josh Woodworth allowed one hit in five shutout innings, Shane Farrell pitched two scoreless innings for the save, Wylan Nelson went 2 for 3 with a run scored, and Dash Lopez was 1 for 3 with an RBI to lead Ventura (7-5, 4-1) to a 2-0 victory over Pacifica in a Channel League game. Ricky Garcia allowed five hits and two runs in a complete-game effort and Sal Lopez was 1 for 3 for the Tritons (5-6-1, 2-3).

  • Orlando Alvarez and Cooper Moreau had hits for Oxnard (6-4, 2-3) in its 4-0 loss to San Marcos in a Channel League game.

  • Ethan Gibbel allowed four hits while striking out four in five scoreless innings, Matthew Witkow was 3 for 3 with two RBIs, and Will Stubington had a hit and three RBIs to lead Calabasas (6-3) to a 10-0 victory over Moorpark in a nonleague game.

  • Jaden Kolkowski allowed one run while striking out three in four innings, Max Weitz was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Dane Holt went 3 for 3 with two RBIs, and Max Fernandez, Mathew Magruder and Denten Tezlaff each went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead Thousand Oaks (5-4) to a 9-1 win over Grace Brethren in a nonleague game. Kyle Zahn was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Lancers (3-8).

  • Bronson Taylor went 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Hayden Villa was 3 for 3 with an RBI, Adam Arth was 2 for 5 with two RBIs, Robert Juker had a double and two RBIs, Russell Brown was 2 for 4 with an RBI, Aiden Gomez had a double, and Jack Pankratz allowed three hits and two runs in a complete-game effort to lead Foothill Tech (5-4-1) to an 11-2 win over Fillmore in a nonleague game.

SOFTBALL

  • Sarah Coccillos went 2 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, Ciara Lopez was 2 for 2 with two RBIs, Analia Lopez was 2 for 4 with an RBI, Jaslene Rios went 1 for 2 with two RBIs, Mariah Reyes was 1 for 3 with an RBI, and Jasmine Reyes allowed four earned runs while striking out nine in a complete-game effort to lead unbeaten Rio Mesa (8-0, 4-0) to a 13-6 win over Buena in a Channel League game. Madison Shay was 2 for 2 with two doubles and two RBIs and Natalie Pierce and Divina Miranda each went 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Bulldogs (1-6, 0-5).

  • Olivia Marsing went 2 for 2 with a grand slam and six RBIs, Yaya Landeros was 4 for 5 with a two-run homer, two doubles and five RBIs, Adrianna Rodriguez hit a two-run homer, and Chloe Simpson was 2 for 2 with two RBIs to lead Ventura (6-3-1, 3-2) to a 19-3, five-inning win over Pacifica in a Channel League game.

  • Jordy Charash went 2 for 4 with a three-run triple in the bottom of the sixth inning, Mia Gomez hit a three-run home run, Aurelia Ehry had a solo homer, Rylee Redmond was 2 for 2, and Briona Ferdman went 2 for 3 to lead Agoura (4-4) to an 8-5 win over Camarillo in a nonleague game. Justice Flores was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, Alianna Rodriguez hit a solo homer, Alexa Gomez went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI, Angelina Apodaca was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, and Sophia Valencia went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Scorpions (7-2).

  • Madison Finnerty pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts and went 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, Ava Jo McGowan was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Daniela Isarraras hit a homer, Sydney Burckhard was 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored, and Jo Buckley went 2 for 4 with two RBIs to lead Moorpark (5-4, 1-0) to a 9-5 win over Oak Park in a Coastal Canyon League game. Cameron McGugan hit a three-run homer, Avery Pryor was 2 for 3, Savannah Mitchell went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Zoe Vanderbok was 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Eagles (4-5, 1-1).

  • Emma Estrella pitched a five-inning shutout with 13 strikeouts, Aryanne Munoz had a single, a triple and two RBIs, Sofie Aviles had a single, double and two RBIs, Viviana Posadas had a single, double and an RBI, Makayla Balboa had a double and an RBI, and Erika Sanchez had a single and an RBI to lead Fillmore (7-4, 3-0) to a 10-0 win over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast League game.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

  • JF Referente finished with 10 kills, three digs and a block, Jason Mejia compiled 20 assists, Karsen Shaw had six kills, Macen DeCoste had five kills, and Dominic Vicente had eight digs to lead Rio Mesa (11-2, 2-2) to a 25-18, 25-17, 25-23 sweep of Buena in a Channel League match.

  • JP Mawas had 30 assists and two kills, Caiden Aguilar finished with 11 kills and five digs, Mac Land had 10 kills, and Jacob Liporada had 13 digs for Oxnard (6-7, 2-2) in its 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 loss to Dos Pueblos in a Channel League match.

  • Nikko Songco finished with 14 kills, Sinjon Laughton had seven kills, and Will Nicks added three kills and three blocks to lead Oak Park to a 25-9, 25-10, 25-16 sweep of Moorpark in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Josh Supa had 10 kills and 10 digs, Ben Hildebrand 10 kills, Calen Iuis had nine kills, Dash Cowley finished with 20 assists and seven aces, Jack Blem-Keck had 15 assists, and Liam Harary had six kills and three blocks to lead Agoura to a 25-11, 25-18, 30-28 sweep of Viewpoint in a nonleague match.

BOYS GOLF

  • Brady McHenry fired a 2-under 70 to earn medalist honors and Adam Anderson shot a 75 to lead Buena (5-0, 1-0) to a 443-448 win over rival Ventura in a Channel League match at Olivas Links Golf Course. Matt Jones had a 76 to lead the Cougars.

  • Max Emberson was the medalist with a 1-under 70, Nick Benton shot an even-par 71 and Graham Christopher had a 76 to lead Oaks Christian to a 382-417 win over Palisades at Sterling Hills Golf Club.

  • Cooper Greenwood and Stephen Ong each shot a 78 to lead Agoura (3-3) to a 410-428 victory over Calabasas at Sterling Hills Golf Club. Freddie Carcamo was the medalist with a 1-under 70 for the Coyotes.

BOYS SWIMMING

  • Buena defeated Rio Mesa 101-66 in a Channel League meet. Wyatt Munger won the 100 freestyle (51.95) and 200 freestyle (1:55.92). Brayden Black won the 200 IM (2:20.93). Jack Pointner won the 500 freestyle (5:12.00). Mack Munger won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.03). For Rio Mesa, Jaiden Monroe won the 50 freestyle (22.03) and 100 backstroke (53.01). Lucas Cornejo won the 100 butterfly (1:00.04).

GIRLS SWIMMING

  • Buena defeated Rio Mesa 116-43 in a Channel League meet. Madelyn Pierce won the 200 freestyle (2:25.11). Kendall Nagaoka won the 200 IM (2:30.70). Addison Bruno won the 50 freestyle (26.23) and 500 freestyle (5:45.34). Alyssa Angeles won the 100 butterfly (1:13.08). Maren Bursek won the 100 freestyle (59.19). Abigail Lao won the 100 backstroke (1:19.46). Olivia DeCierdo won the 100 breaststroke (1:16.29).

BOYS TENNIS

  • Karthik Tholudur and Jason Kiang swept their doubles sets to lead Newbury Park to an 11-7 win over Westlake in a Marmonte League match.

  • Oaks Christian (3-2, 1-0) defeated Calabasas in games, 70-66, after the teams tied in sets at 9-9 in a Marmonte League match.
