TSSAA football playoffs scores: Tennessee high school football semifinal live updates

The TSSAA football playoffs are down to the semifinals, which takes place on Friday across the state.

We'll keep tabs on all 12 semifinal games, including Oakland's trip to Bradley Central in seeking another trip to the 6A state title game.

In the east, Knoxville West faces Walker Valley for a spot in the 5A state title game. Greeneville hosts Upperman in the 4A semifinal, where one team will carry an unblemished record to Chattanooga next weekend.

There's a storyline for every one of the 12 games across six classes in Division I. Time to find out who will play for a state championship in Chattanooga next week.

Oakland will get a chance to win an unprecedented fourth straight Class 6A football state championship after handing Bradley Central and Tennessee commit Boo Barter their lone loss of the 2023 TSSAA football season. Oakland beat Bradley Central 38-17.

Daune Morris, a Mr. Football finalist, ran for 171 yards and four TDs in the win, which was tied 17-all before Oakland scored 21 unanswered points to end the game.

An Ethan Cunningham touchdown run is the difference so far in Page's Class 5A semifinal game with Southwind. Page leads 7-0 thanks to an impressive performance by the Patriots' defense, headlined by Brenden Anes and Mr. Football finalist Eric Hazzard.

Here comes Bradley Central football

Boo Carter and Bradley Central have tied their Class 6A state semifinal game with Oakland at 17 all.

Kaleb Martin scored the game-tying touchdown on a 9-yard TD run for Bradley Central. Boo Carter also has a second-half TD score.

Mr. Football finalist gives Pearl-Cohn early lead

Zeion Simpson-Smith, one of two Pearl-Cohn Mr. Football finalists, has given the Firebirds an early 7-0 lead over Haywood in a Class 4A semifinal. Simpson-Smith broke a 15-yard run for the TD with 7:47 left in the first quarter.

East Nashville goes for it on fourth down, and scores long TD

Give East Nashville coach Damien Harris credit. He's fearless with his playcalling.

The Eagles went for it on fourth-and-two and Keith Johnson broke a 52-yard TD run to give East Nashville an early 7-0 lead.

Marshaun Bowers scores second TD for Knoxville West

It's the Marshaun Bowers show early for Knoxville West. Bowers scored his second TD of the Class 5A state semifinals to give West a 14-3 lead with 8.3 seconds left in the first quarter. Note: This game started at 7:30 p.m. (ET) due to TV scheduling.

Alcoa now leads Giles County 21-0 with 5:28 left in the first half.

Ashton Jones's short-yardage TD gave Oakland a 14-0 lead on Bradley Central with 6:05 left in the first half of their TSSAA football playoff semifinal. Both Jones and Daune Morris have TD runs for the Patriots.

Oakland needed 13 plays to drive 46 yards for the touchdown.

Knoxville West jumps out quick 7-0 to Walker Valley

Knoxville West needed 1:08 to score its first TD of the game and go up 7-0 on visiting Walker Valley. Marshaun Bowers with the short TD run for the score.

Alcoa football lead moves to 14-0

Alcoa's lead is now 14-0 after Eli Graf broke free for a 63-yard run with 50 seconds left in the first quarter. Giles County ball and they need an answer.

Oakland Patriots runs to early 7-0 lead

Mr. Football finalist Daune Morris' 12-yard TD run has given Oakland a 7-0 lead at Bradley Central with 23.8 seconds left in the first quarter. Morris capped a six-play drive that was started by Ashton Jones' 41-yard run.

Alcoa football out to early 7-0 lead

Eight-time defending Class 3A state champion Alcoa has jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over Giles County in their Class 3A state semifinal game.
