Trophy chase: District 10 softball playoffs begin Monday with title game, quarterfinals
The District 10 softball playoffs get underway on Monday starting with the Class 6A championship as McDowell takes on Erie for a third time at Penn State Behrend at 4 p.m. The winner returns to Behrend on Wednesday for a PIAA subregional.
The other four brackets start with quarterfinals, including Class 1A and 2A on Monday and Class 3A and 4A on Tuesday.
The schedule on Monday includes doubleheaders at Allegheny College and the Hermitage Complex, with tripleheaders on Tuesday at Penn State Behrend and at Allegheny College.
The semifinals are set for Wednesday and Thursday with the traditional Memorial Day championships set for May 29.
