Tri-County Speedway winners

Oct. 14—It was a much cooler night than the previous week, and the action was just as hot.

The first race of the night was in the Outlaw Division.

Martin Nesbitt (#92) captured the pole with a fast time of 15.939. When it came time, the first five qualifiers were inverted.

Tim Dale (#5D) led the field to the green flag, and the first caution came on lap 3 when debris from Austin Simmons (#75) had to be cleared from the track.

Dale and Junior Franks (#1) brought out the second caution when they got together and spun in turn 3.

The final caution happened on lap 30 when Dale was involved in a single-car spin on the backstretch. Nesbitt overcame the invert and claimed his 6th win of the season. Dale finished second, and Zack Hill (#7H) nailed down the third-place spot.

The Pro 4 was the second race of the night.

Rodney Trivette (#6) recorded a fast lap of 179.949 to lead all qualifiers. The first three qualifiers were inverted. Kaley Hodges (#14) was the first to see the green flag, and Hodges and Trivette came together in the backstretch on lap 1.

A complete restart was in order since a lap had not been completed. Hodges and Trivette had to fall to the back of the field for the restart. Caution number 2 resulted when Trivette and Chris Amburgey (#17) had trouble in turn 4.

The race's last caution came when Amburgey's car slowed to a stop on the track before the restart. Curtis Pardue (#17X) claimed the win, Robbie Trivette was second, and Rodney Trivette finished third.

The ground-pounding Smart Modified Division was the third event of the night. Jason Myers (#4) had a lap of 14.635 in qualifying.

The division had a redraw for the starting positions, and Myer's good fortune drew the top spot.

Caution flew on lap 23 when Brandon Ward (#2) and Jonathon Cash (#39) had an incident on the backstretch. Lap 30 saw a competition caution, which only a few drivers took advantage of.

On lap 66, Jeremy Gerstner (#55) spun in turn two, bringing the second competition caution. Former Cup Series Champion Bobby Labonte (#18) claimed his first win in over a year, while Bobby Maesmer Jr. (#14) finished second, followed by Bryan Loftin (#15) in third.

The Front Wheel Drive Division was the fourth race of the night. Jackie Stone (#17) was the fastest qualifying with a lap of 19.185. This race was caution-free, and Jason Garwood (#46) took the checkered flag, followed by James Powell (#27) in second and Chuck Simms (#44) finishing third.

In the fifth race, the Limited Late Models, Charles Watson (#9) took the pole with a lap of 16.028. The top three qualifiers were inverted, awarding the top starting to Austin Harris (#59).

There was a huge commotion at the start of the race when Don Carlton (#14) lost control before turn one, slamming the inside pit wall hard. In the process, the cars of Eric Wallace (#12), Jonathon Philyaw (#22), Rich Hudson (#8), C.J. McLaughlin (#50), William Aldred (#9X), and Tim Bristol (#71).

Most of the drivers could continue, and after a complete restart, the race ran without further incident. Watson was the winner, with Harris finishing second and Darren Krantz Jr. (#1) was third

The sixth race was in the Street Stock Division, and Martin Yoder was the pole-sitter with a lap of 17.108.

The top five were inverted, and the top spot went to Marvin Miller (#5). Miller was part of the first caution on lap 18, getting together with Kyle Boyce in turn three.

Josh Sams (#71) went on to win the race, with Mike Hatton (#12) in second and (#55) Johnny Reynolds finishing third.

The night's final race was the Renegade Division, and Dalton Ledbetter (#32) was the fastest with a lap time of 19.516.

The first five cars were inverted, giving Ben Campbell (#1) the front starting spot.

Before the start, Ledbetter was offered a $100.00 bonus if he fell to the rear of the field on the start and came back and won the race.

One caution flew on lap 15 when Michael Waldrop (#22) spun on the backstretch. Klint Townsend (#9) took the win, Ledbetter finished second, and Steve Smart (#16) was third.

The Cars Tour Series will be at Tri-County Speedway on Oct. 28.
