Trey Lipscomb records hit in MLB debut with Nationals

Washington (1-1) defeated Cincinnati (1-1), 7-6, on Saturday at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Former Vol Trey Lipscomb made his Major League Baseball debut. He started at third base for the Nationals. Lipscomb went 1-for-4 and recorded a single in his first at-bat.

Lipscomb made his MLB debut after former Vol Nick Senzel was placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 27, due to a fractured right thumb.

Lipscomb played at Tennessee from 2019-22 and appeared in 103 games, including 78 starts.

He was selected by Washington in the third-round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft (No. 84 overall).
