How Travis Kelce repped Penny Hardaway ahead of Chiefs-Dolphins game in Germany

Travis Kelce's blossoming relationship with Taylor Swift has sent the Kansas City Chiefs tight end's public profile into the stratosphere.

On Friday, as his NFL team arrived in Germany for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins, Kelce shared some of that spotlight with Memphis basketball coach Penny Hardaway thanks to his wardrobe choice.

The Chiefs posted a photo on social media of Kelce sporting a sweater from the 2023 Nike x Stussy Air Penny collection. The sweater features a series of logos, including Nike, Stussy and Hardaway's iconic "1 Cent" brand, splashed across the front.

Hardaway began a collaboration late last year with Nike and Stussy, a global fashion brand, to reimagine the Nike Air Penny II sneaker, which was released in 1996 and remains popular more than 25 years later.

Hardaway told The Commercial Appeal in October that he had recently participated in another photo shoot alongside Lil Penny − Hardaway's Chris Rock-voiced alter ego made popular through a series of commercials in the 1990s.

“That was cool,” he said. “It sort of brought back the old days.”

Hardaway is in his sixth season as coach at Memphis. He has led his alma mater to back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. His Tigers begin the regular season Monday with a home game against Jackson State.
