There are obvious stars like Miles Caviness, Cadearrell Sneed, and Aquinas transfer Ben Newman filling in the skill positions on East Rochester/Gananda's offense.

But coach Tim Rose was quick to say how his Bombers, who are seeking a third consecutive Section V Class C finals appearance, will only go as far as their linemen take them.

Two-way linemen Britton Delmadoros, Derek Geronimo, Seth Lockwood, Jack McCarthy, Nate Tandle, and defensive lineman Tyler Leisten, present a mix of size and athleticism. Caleb Carpenter, who had 2.5 sacks before getting hurt in the 2022 opener, is back to his unique roles at nose guard and running back.

Caviness is the "vocal leader" and one of Section V's best receivers. He'll make a great tandem with Monroe transfer Noah Mather. Sneed may play in the slot and the backfield. Brayden Dohse will play multiple positions after starting at quarterback last fall. Newman won the quarterback competition, but both players will be incorporated into the offense.

"Brayden is bought in, and Ben jumped right in from Day 1. We felt both players were two of our best 11," Rose said.

ER/G's best defender Sam Morgante is already out for the season with a torn ACL, but as a captain his leadership will be crucial. Caviness, Dohse, Delmadoros and Newman are the other captains.

"This years group really bought in and wants to put in the work," Rose said.
