James Maddison will make his first Tottenham start since November in tonight's clash with Brentford.

The Spurs playmaker came off the bench for the final 17 minutes of the FA Cup fourth-round defeat by Manchester City on Friday evening and trained in the days leading up to this evening's game.

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has moved Dejan Kulusevski into the front three and left Brennan Johnson on the bench as a result of Maddison's return.

Spurs remain without Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Manor Solomon, Alejo Veliz (both knee) and Giovani Lo Celso (muscle), while captain Heung-min Son and Yves Bissouma are still away at the Asian Cup and Africa Cup of Nations respectively.

Pape Sarr is heading home after Senegal's shock last-16 exit from AFCON, but this game comes too soon for his return.

Bryan Gil is on the bench despite being linked with a move to Brighton.
