Evansville sports: As more high schools start teams, girls wrestling is 'just getting better' in SW Indiana
Monday, January 8
Mallory Luigs, North Posey basketball: The sophomore totaled 12 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a 60-41 victory against Evansville Christian.
Norah Miller, Reitz basketball: The senior scored a game-high 16 points and became the third in program history with 1,000 career points in a loss to Princeton.
Ailie Taylor, Princeton basketball: The sophomore had 13 points and eight rebounds in a 52-49 victory at Reitz.
Jazalyn Ward, North Posey basketball: The sophomore scored a team-high 16 points in a win against Evansville Christian.
Tuesday, January 9
Ella Bobe, South Knox basketball: The junior scored 26 points for the No. 3 Spartans in a 77-47 win over Wood Memorial.
Alexis Harris, South Spencer basketball: The freshman totaled 21 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 62-43 win over Boonville.
Sophie Johnson, Memorial basketball: The senior had 25 points, nine rebounds and six steals in a 67-44 victory against Mater Dei.
Mayci Litherland, Heritage Hills basketball: The junior scored a career-high 19 points in a 66-65 double overtime win against North Posey.
Mallory Luigs, North Posey basketball: The sophomore totaled 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a loss to Heritage Hills.
Ayden McAtee, Castle basketball: The senior had 20 points and seven rebounds in a 91-70 conference win over Central.
Jaylan Mitchell, Reitz basketball: The freshman had a team-high 18 points in a 56-36 win at Boonville.
Avah Montgomery, Southridge basketball: The junior scored 26 points for the Raiders in a 41-27 win against Northeast Dubois.
Wednesday, January 10
Brady Byrd, Washington wrestling: The senior became the all-time wins leader in program history with No. 124 at Boonville. Byrd is currently 33-0 this season.
Maddy Shirley, Central basketball: The sophomore scored 20 points for the Bears in their 51-40 victory against Vincennes Lincoln.
Thursday, January 11
Ella Bobe, South Knox basketball: The junior scored 23 points and became the third in program history to reach 1,000 for her career in a win against North Daviess.
Brynna Collins, North Knox basketball: The junior had 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals in a win against Shoals.
Reese Ford, Tell City basketball: The sophomore had 20 points, six rebounds and three assists in a 56-49 win over Boonville.
Lexi Frey, Vincennes Rivet basketball: The junior scored a game-high 20 points in a 46-39 win over Loogootee.
Avery Kelley, Memorial basketball: The senior had 24 points and 10 rebounds in a 66-58 conference victory over Castle.
Maddux Marshall, Southridge basketball: The senior had a team-high 13 points in a 39-34 win against South Spencer.
Dawson Maurer, Gibson Southern swimming: The senior broke two of his school records (the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:06.41 and the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.27) against Castle.
Emily Parker, Boonville basketball: The sophomore had 21 points for the Pioneers in a loss to Tell City.
Macy Sexton, Vincennes Lincoln basketball: The senior scored a team-high 13 points and hit the go-ahead basket in a 44-41 win over North.
Gabby Spink, Gibson Southern basketball: The junior totaled 16 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals in a win at Tecumseh.

Jackson Clowers, Mount Vernon basketball: The senior had a game-high 18 points in a 47-42 win over No. 8 Southridge.
Paige Cook, Boonville wrestling: The junior placed seventh in the 152-pound class at the IHSGW state finals.
Luke Ellspermann, Memorial basketball: The junior scored 13 points, including 11 in a fourth-quarter comeback, in a 52-50 win at Mater Dei.
Julian Gish, Pike Central basketball: The senior had 25 points and hit a buzzer-beater in a 56-55 win over No. 1 Heritage Hills.
Kade Groteguth, North Knox basketball: The senior scored a team-high 16 points in a 47-40 win against Shoals.
Reid Howard, Forest Park basketball: The senior scored 20 points for the Rangers in a 77-69 victory at South Spencer.
Brayden Huebner, North basketball: The senior totaled 15 points and 10 assists in a 63-57 conference win against Vincennes Lincoln.
Jace Jenkins, Princeton basketball: The junior scored 14 points and made three 3-pointers in a 55-42 victory against county rival Gibson Southern.
Brodey Lamb, Gibson Southern basketball: The junior had a game-high 17 points in a loss to Princeton.
Mount Vernon wrestling: Senior Hannah West was the state runner-up in the 190-pound class while junior Cammie Ritchie placed sixth at 235 at the IHSGW state finals.
Laine Mullins, Jasper wrestling: The senior placed seventh in the 140-pound class at the IHSGW state finals.
North Posey wrestling: Sophomore Adelyn Gambin placed seventh in the 125-pound class while freshman Kenna Kleinschmidt placed eighth at 105 at the IHSGW state finals.
Joel Sanders, Vincennes Lincoln basketball: The junior scored a game-high 24 points and drained 6 threes in a loss at North.
Trent Sisley, Heritage Hills basketball: The junior scored 23 points for the Patriots in a loss at Pike Central.
Eli Speer, Harrison basketball: The senior had a team-high 15 points and hit 3 three-pointers in a 76-37 win against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter.
Colton Stowers, Washington basketball: The junior scored 20 points for the Hatchets in a 44-41 win over Boonville.

Luke Ellspermann, Memorial basketball: The junior scored 17 points (12 in the fourth quarter) for the Tigers in a 61-58 comeback victory against Henderson County.
Taray Howell, Bosse basketball: The senior had a game-high 28 points in an 81-68 victory over Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter.
Macy Lankford, Mater Dei basketball: The sophomore had a game-high 15 points in a 52-35 win against Vincennes Rivet.

Malachi McNair, Harrison basketball: The senior had 32 points and 11 rebounds in an 81-70 victory over Springfield Southeast.

North swimming: The boys and girls team completed the sweep in this year's City meet.

Daveon Smith, Central basketball: The junior averaged 18 points for the Bears in a pair of victories against Springfield Southeast and Hopkinsville.
Gabby Spink, Gibson Southern basketball: The junior totaled a game-high 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and five steals for the first place Titans in a 62-42 conference victory against Washington.
Colton Stowers, Washington basketball: The junior had a game-high 18 points in a 34-32 win over Jasper.
