The top returning Vermont high school girls hockey players? Our 2023-24 watchlist.

After conversations, texts and email messages with media colleagues, coaches and athletic directors throughout Vermont, below is our list of the state's top returning high school girls hockey players.

The 2023-24 campaign kicks off Friday night and the regular season wraps no later than Feb. 21. Tournament play is slated to start as early as Feb. 23, with championship tilts scheduled for early March at the University of Vermont's Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Vermont Principals' Association winter guides for all sports can be found on the VPA's website.

Rae Alexander

School: BFA-St. Albans

Class year: Senior

Position: Forward

2022-23 season: Tallied 13 goals, 13 assists to make the BFP all-state honorable-mention squad.

Madison Barwood

School: Hartford

Class year: Junior

Position: Forward

2022-23 season: The multi-sport athlete was an offensive threat for a 13-win Hartford squad.

Ella Blaise

School: Kingdom Blades

Class year: Sophomore

Position: Forward

2022-23 season: Led the Division II state finalists in scoring with 29 goals, 12 assists. Landed on second team for D-II all-stars.

Nella Bowen

School: Hartford

Class year: Sophomore

Position: Goalie

2022-23 season: Won starting job as a freshman, back-stopping a 13-win campaign.

Leah Boyd

School: Burlington/Colchester

Class year: Junior

Position: Goalie

2022-23 season: Compiled two shutouts, a 91% save percentage and a 1.8 goals-against average in six appearances (3-2-1) for a Sealakers squad that reached the Division I title game.

Meridian Bremel

School: Woodstock

Class year: Senior

Position: Goalie

2022-23 season: Compiled seven shutouts in Woodstock's run to back-to-back Division II titles.

Sabrina Brunet

School: South Burlington

Class year: Senior

Position: Forward

2022-23 season: Recorded 18 goals, 11 assists to land on the BFP all-state honorable-mention team.

Kiley Burke

School: South Burlington

Class year: Senior

Position: Defense

2022-23 season: Had two goals, two assists from the Wolves' blue line.

Isabela Butler

School: Kingdom Blades

Class year: Sophomore

Position: Forward

2022-23 season: Tallied eight goals, 18 assists for the Division II runners-up.

Brooke-Lynne Choiniere

School: Kingdom Blades

Class year: Senior

Position: Defense

2022-23 season: Picked up eight goals, nine assists and only two penalty minutes from the blue line.

Isabel Donza

School: Stowe

Class year: Senior

Position: Forward

2022-23 season: The BFP all-state second-team selection racked up 28 goals, 15 assists with only 10 penalty minutes. Donza is one point shy of 100 for her career.

Kaelin Downey

School: Burr and Burton

Class year: Senior

Position: Forward

2022-23 season: Registered 21 goals, 11 assists for a 16-win Bulldogs squad.

Mai-Liis Edwards

School: Burr and Burton

Class year: Junior

Position: Forward

2022-23 season: Totaled 19 goals, 15 assists for the Bulldogs, who were the No. 2 seed for the Division II playoffs.

Hannah Gubbins

School: Woodstock

Class year: Senior

Position: Defense

2022-23 season: Recorded seven goals, 17 assists for the Division II state champions.

Ruby Harrington

School: Spaulding

2022-23 season: Had nine goals, 12 assists for the Division I state champions.

Bri Jarvis

2022-23 season: Amassed 22 goals, 17 assists as the Comets' leading scorer. Landed on the BFP all-state first team.

Gracelyn Laperle

School: Woodstock
