Here are the top high school sports performers for the Austin area this week.

Boys basketball

Ethan Birchall, Lake Travis: Scored 14 crucial points to help the Cavs defeat Round Rock 60-48 in the first round of the playoffs. Hudson Greer led Lake Travis with 20 points in his first game back from injury.

Jason Ward, Round Rock: Led all scorers with 21 points in the Dragons’ loss to Lake Travis in a Class 6A bidistrict playoff game.

Robert Conrad, Cedar Creek: Tallied 20 points as the Eagles beat McCallum 47-34 in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Kenji Franklin, Cedar Creek: Finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks to help the Eagles claim the first playoff win in school history.

Jordan Wright, Connally: Paced the Cougars with 15 points as they began the Class 5A playoffs by beating LASA 65-40.

Chi Ukachukwu, Hendrickson: Had 19 points as the Hawks opened the Class 5A playoffs with a 63-42 win over LBJ.

Aiden Disu, St. Michael’s: His double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds led the Crusaders to a 72-56 win vs. Fort Worth Christian to start the TAPPS Class 5A playoffs.

Sam McKinney, Johnson: Scored 16 points in Johnson’s Class 6A playoff win over Vandegrift. Teammate Jaxson Vandegarde added 15 points.

Ryder Bradley, Leander: Poured in 26 points and had six rebounds in a 49-45 loss to San Antonio Veterans Memorial in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Alan Guyton Jr., Stony Point: Finished with 15 points in the Tigers’ 78-62 win vs. Bowie to open the Class 6A playoffs.

Josiah Moseley, Stony Point: Led the Tigers with 22 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in their win against Bowie.

Qui Raun Pressley, Kai Canfield, Georgetown: Both players finished with 20 points in a playoff-opening win vs. Crockett.

Cameron Jackson, Weiss: Recorded 18 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks as the Wolves topped Cedar Hill to begin the Class 6A playoffs.

Wonder Kahozi, Westlake: Scored 18 points to spur the Chaps past Manor to start the Class 6A playoffs. Gavin Paull added 16 points for Westlake.

Devin Brown, Rouse: Finished with a game-high 17 points as the Raiders beat San Antonio Pieper to begin the Class 5A playoffs.

Boys wrestling

Alec Rill, Dripping Springs: Won the 215-pound weight class at the Class 6A state wrestling tournament.

Nathan Reilly, Cedar Park: Took gold in the 106-pound weight class at the Class 5A state wrestling tournament.

Harl Ball, Georgetown: Was runner-up at 150 pounds at the Class 5A state wrestling tournament.

Jackson Shipley, Dripping Springs: Finished second in the 106-pound weight class at the Class 6A state tournament.

Isaac Zapata, Georgetown: Took silver at 175 pounds at the Class 5A state wrestling tournament.

Boys soccer

Westlake 2, Del Valle 0: Izel Gonzalez and Ethan Fuss scored while Tobin Nguyen had the shutout for the Chaps, who have won four straight.

Glenn 5, Lockhart 1: Vince Rodriguez's brace and assist and goals from Tito Don Juan, Colton Clement and David Tinajero kept the Grizzlies undefeated. John Gomez also had an assist for Glenn.

Rouse 1, Liberty Hill 0: Connor Courville’s goal off a pass from Camden O’Hara and Grant Simmons’ clean sheet led the Raiders.

Vista Ridge 7, McNeil 5: In the highest scoring game of the year, J Mossholder had a hat trick and an assist, Arthur Santos tallied a goal and two assists, Yaseen Salman recorded a goal and assist and Will Payton and Chet Krushefski both found the net for the Rangers. Cyrus Keahand Hayden Erickson rounded out the Vista Ridge assists.

McCallum 3, LBJ 0: Austin Gourrier’s brace, a 50-yard goal from Speight Twohey and Summit Flowers’ clean sheet highlighted the Knights’ win. Evan Burnside provided the assist on one of Gourrier’s scores.

Westwood 3, Cedar Ridge 1: The Warriors kept their playoff hopes alive thanks to goals by Beau Bryant, Caleb Fagan and Braden Wilson and two assists from Andre Martinez. Jack Cox also provided an assist. Wilson was named Man of the Match.

Vandegrift 5, Manor 1: Jason Panoff tallied a brace and Emmy Aranda, Yandel Andrade and Luke Hawley had goals to lead the Vipers.

Round Rock 3, Stony Point 1: Nuhan Mahud’s brace, a goal by Tate Gutierrez and assists from Kai Haruki, Logan Fossett and Taiki Fukushima paced the Dragons in a key District 25-6A win.

Georgetown 3, Pflugerville 2: Marten Valdes scored twice and JJ Carrillo Jr. had a goal and two assists as the Eagles took a big step towards a playoff spot. Andrew Cung also produced an assist for Georgetown. Emmanuel Castelan’s brace led the Panthers.

Connally 7, Elgin 1: Lawrence Doe’s hat trick and assist, Orlando Frias’ two goals and four assists and goals from Noe Molina and Gavin Latas paced the Cougars. Aaron Olalde also had an assist.

Northeast 7, Travis 2: Augustine Bitomwa had two goals, Luis Carlos Vargas tallied a goal and three assists, Erik Velasquez had a goal and assist and Walter Padilla, Evan Vasquez and Roger Amador all found the net in an offensive explosion for the Raiders. Christian Espinoza’s assist finished out Northeast’s stat sheet.

Hendrickson 2, Bastrop 2: Jackob Youngkin and Mateo Palma scored off passes from Fabian Kent for the Hawks.

East View 1, Cedar Creek 0: Serjio Maldonado’s goal off an assist by Aldo Treto gave the Patriots the win. Edwin Morales and Adrian Leonides combined for the clean sheet.

Weiss 2, Harker Heights 0: Justin Abarca tallied both goals for the Wolves off passes from Dylan Bergval and Cody Urquiza. Juleeanh Ontiveros provided the clean sheet.

Bowie 3, Austin High 0: Jake Ciccarello recorded a hat trick and Blaze Hatchett had the shutout to lead the Bulldogs, who are still undefeated.

LASA 5, Crockett 0: Owen Rooff scored twice, Kiran Kini, Yohannes Heineman and Juan Pizano all added goals and Marco Vidal recorded the shutout for the Raptors. Ishan Bhavsar’s two assists led the team’s passing, with Alex Marintzer and Heineman also having assists.

Girls basketball

Hope Edwards, Cedar Park: Scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Timberwolves past Liberty Hill in a Class 5A regional quarterfinal.

Gabby Mundy, Liberty Hill: Finished with 18 points in a playoff loss to Cedar Park.

Soma Okola, Glenn: Poured in 39 points in a Class 5A regional quarterfinal win against San Antonio Wagner.

Amya Edwards, Hendrickson: Paced the Hawks with 23 points during their regional quarterfinal win over Lake Belton. Tiffani Jackson tallied 14 points and Niyah Waters added 13 points in the victory

Gianna Angiolet, Westlake: Tallied 20 points in a Class 6A regional quarterfinal win over San Antonio Churchill.

Girls wrestling

Rachel Corley, Cedar Park: Won the 107-pound weight class at the Class 5A state wrestling tournament.

Brooke McCurley, Round Rock: Finished runnerup in the 120-pound weight class at the Class 6A state wrestling tournament.

Girls soccer

Leander 5, Hays 0: Alicia Aguinaga had a goal and assist and Kylie Bernal, Kensley Seaman Smith, Paige Davis and Morgan Brannan all found the net for the Lions. Teagan Wahle tallied two assists, Sadie Guzman record an assist and goalies Alyse Kavanaugh and Jovie Mise combined for the shutout.

Georgetown 7, Pflugerville 1: Ambrey Heath and Finley Newell scored two goals each, while Libby Benson, Emma Benson, and Emma Moore each added solo goals for the Eagles. Emie Benson added two assists in the win.

Cedar Park 6, Lehman 0: Sienna Fleniken scored two goals, Sofia Peters had a goal and two assists and Abbie Hall, Frances Tran and Vienna Tran all scored for the Timberwolves. Jemma Hart recorded the clean sheet in goal.

Vandegrift 9, Manor 0: Both Nala Macherey and Eva Pensamiento scored two goals, and Aly Arsenault, Peyton Arnaud, Belle Murray, Ella Shahinian and Leya Bustami all added solo goals for the Vipers. Regan McKinley and Bustami had two assists each, while Kyla Jones and Kali Mendoza combined for the shutout in goal.

Round Rock 2, Stony Point 0: AJ Mayock scored twice as the first-place Dragons remained unbeaten in district play.

Westwood 3, Cedar Ridge 0: Tayla Score, Kaleia Coughlin and Kate Wyrick all had goals for the Warriors as Sam Walker notched another shutout in goal. Westwood is on a nine-game undefeated streak in district play.

Bowie 3, Austin High 0: Ava Grosso, Macy Jennings and Liz Luck scored for the Bulldogs, with Fiona Padalino and Miranda Sullivan combining for the clean sheet in goal. Padalino and Sullivan each made six saves.

Westlake 3, Del Valle 0: Kate Grannis’ brace, Emma Kron’s goal and Carter Utkov’s two assists led the Chaps. Grace Condon also had an assist, with Sophia Martin recording the shutout.

Johnson 2, Dripping Springs 1: Lilley Christenson’s two goals led the Jaguars to a key District 26-6A win.

Anderson 8, Akins 0: Gracie Ruthven’s hat trick and goals from Meesha Akbar, Sydney Gaynor, Gracie Huff, Simone Fodo and Julia Hirschman led the Trojans. Kendall Meachum and Jada Navarro teamed up for the clean sheet in goal.

Ann Richards 1, LASA 1: In a battle of state-ranked foes, Ann Richards and LASA played to a deadlock. Scoring for Ann Richards was Mia Cazares off an assist by Becky Madrid.

Burnet 3, Marble Falls 0: Kaycie Banton had two goals and an assist, Savannah Griffin had a goal and an assist and Amelia Griffin had an assist for the Bulldogs.

Girls soccer notes: In District 24-4A, first-place Giddings defeated Manor New Tech 11-0, while second-place Taylor was played to a 1-1 draw by Rockdale. Smithville edged Caldwell 2-1.

In Texas Girls Coaches Association state poll rankings, Giddings is ranked second in Class 4A, with Burnet 18th. In Class 5A, Leander is seventh, Georgetown ninth, McCallum 12th, Ann Richards 16th, Hendrickson 20th, LASA 23rd and Cedar Park 24th. In Class 6A, Round Rock is ninth and Westwood 16th.

In District 26-6A, Lake Travis has a narrow lead over Johnson in first place, with Anderson a game back and Westlake ahead of Bowie for fourth place.
