Top basketball, soccer performers in the Shreveport-Bossier City area for Nov. 20-25
Here's a look at the top performers in basketball, soccer and weightlifting from this week in the Shreveport-Bossier City area.
Weightlifting
Alyssa Brewtom, St. Mary's: The freshman captured first place in her weight class recently in the USA Louisiana State Powerlifting meet in Youngsville. Brewtom broke two state records and holds four state records in her class. She has been ranked as high as No. 11 nationally. Her lift totals were squat (215 pounds), bench (115.50) and deadlift (303).
Soccer
Abdal Zidan, Haughton: Zidan scored both goals in a 2-2 lock with Ouachita.
Boys basketball
Kameron Harris, Minden: Harris scored 16 points in a win.
Colossian Mason-Jones, BTW: Mason-Jones scored 25 points in a win over Green Oaks.
JD McDonald, Captain Shreve: McDonald scored 16 points in a win over Ringgold.
Jomello McDonald, Red River: McDonald scored 17 points in a win over Montgomery.
Darnell Morris, Minden: Morris scored 18 points in a win.
Jyrin Sowell, Captain Shreve: Sowell scored 15 points
Girls basketball
Rhyanna Abney, Arcadia: Abney scored 16 points in a win.
DeAsia Alexander, Arcadia: Alexander scored 16 points with 5 steals in a win.
Jakayla Douglas, Pain Dealing: Douglas scored 26 points in a loss.
Abbie Hooper, Haughton: Hooper scored 17 points in a win over Mansfield.
Younique Jackson, BTW: Jackson scored 15 points in a win.
Chloe Larry, Parkway: Larry scores 31 points in a win over Wossman.
J’Nasura Richardson, Florien: Richardson had 19 rebounds, 10 points, 6 blocks and 4 steals in a win over Pineview.
Lehr Turner, Florien: Turner had a double-double of 10 points and 20 boards in a win.
