Did you notice the Cincinnati Reds haven't been playing a walk-up song for outfielder TJ Friedl when he comes to the plate?

Bally Sports Ohio's Jim Day explained during the broadcast of Saturday's win against the Chicago Cubs that Friedl didn't want music to be played in an effort to avoid distraction.

"He's the only player on the Reds team, maybe the only player in the league, I don't know," Day said. "I asked him about it and he says, 'It distracts me.' He says, 'It makes me want to sing the song because obviously it's gonna be one of my favorite songs so I want no distraction.' Another throwback portion of TJ Friedl comes to the plate in silence."

Friedl, who accepted his 2023 Heart and Hustle Award before Saturday's game, has made outstanding plays in the outfield on a routine basis this season, including a defensive gem that prevented an extra-base hit by Yan Gomes in the 2nd inning.
