What Vanderbilt baseball coach Tim Corbin said about James Franklin attending game

Former Vanderbilt and current Penn State football coach James Franklin came straight from the 2023 NFL Draft to attend the Commodores' baseball game against Kentucky on Friday night.

He arrived around 4 p.m., according to coach Tim Corbin, after the team had begun warmups.

"We knew he was coming," Corbin said. "He wanted to stay a couple of days. So it's good to see him again."

Franklin spoke with Corbin in the dugout after the game.

Despite falling behind by two runs early, Vanderbilt (30-11, 14-5 SEC) won the game, 6-4.

Franklin wasn't the only notable former Commodore in attendance. Former Vanderbilt golfer and current PGA Tour member Brandt Snedeker was also in attendance for the win, according to Vanderbilt's Twitter account.

The win for the Commodores snapped a four-game losing streak after being swept by Tennessee last weekend. Hunter Owen will take the mound Saturday for the first time since April 7 after missing two starts because of fatigue.
