Tigers fan does amazing strongman dance after leaping foul catch

We love fan catches here at Big League Stew. Catches in beers or nachos, jumping catches or falling catches, catches while holding a small child, we love them all. So how could we resist featuring a fantastic leaping catch from a young Detroit Tigers fan?

It was the top fifth inning of the Tigers game against the Minnesota Twins. The Twins were batting, and left fielder Eddie Rosario was at the plate. On the 1-1 pitch from Tigers pitcher Matthew Boyd, Rosario swung and sent the ball foul toward the third base side. And mere milliseconds later, the crowd exploded in a big “WOWWWWW.”

When a player sends a ball foul and then you hear a chorus of delighted cheers from the crowd, you know what happened. Someone made a great foul catch. And this young Tigers fan certainly didn’t disappoint. He was perfectly placed — as the ball came in, he leaped up in the air with his glove extended and made a catch worthy of a major league outfielder.

And then, overwhelmed by the awesomeness of what he just did, the kid went adorably nuts. He flexed his arms, let out a yell, and started running away. We don’t see where he went, but we can only assume he did a full lap around the ballpark with his arms flexed in a strongman pose, shrieking in delight the entire time. The kid was so happy that he might still be running somewhere with his arms flexed like that, celebrating until his legs can literally carry him no longer.

That young fan should seriously consider using that strongman celebration anytime something good happens. Aced a test? STRONGMAN DANCE. Got his license? STRONGMAN DANCE. Found a quarter on the ground? You get the idea. So we salute you, joyful Tigers fan. Keep leaping for the stars and celebrating like no one’s watching.
