AUGUSTA — Tiger Woods set a new personal record Saturday at Augusta National Golf Club that he might rather forget.
Woods shot his worst round ever at the Masters after carding a 10-over par 82. He double bogeyed back-to-back holes at Nos. 7 and 8 while bogeying another eight other holes.
Entering Saturday morning, Woods was 1-over par and tied for 22nd place after making his record 24th consecutive cut at the Masters. He now sits at 11-over par and in a tie for 52nd.
He was optimistic on Friday after shooting an even-par 72 and seven shots behind leaders Bryson DeChambeau, Max Homa and Scottie Scheffler.

Woods is in the midst of his 26th appearance at the Masters, having missed just four tournaments since his initial debut as an amateur in 1995. He won his first Green Jacket in 1997 by 12 strokes, ending the weekend with a then-tournament record 270.
He went on to win five Masters throughout his career, second only to Jack Nicklaus with six. Woods' most recent win at Augusta came in 2019, when he shot 13-under to beat out runners-up Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Xander Schauffele by one stroke.
