Thursday's Top Prep Performers: Agoura volleyball clinches playoff spot

Highlights from Thursday in high school sports:

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

  • Alexis O’Keefe finished with 12 kills, Joia McJimpson and Olivia Lopez each had 11 kills, Kiyomi Kohno compiled 37 assists, and Makena Biondi added five kills and four blocks as Agoura defeated Westlake 21-25, 25-8, 25-21, 25-20 in a third-place tiebreaker match in the Marmonte League to automatically qualify for the CIF-SS playoffs. The postseason pairings will be announced Saturday morning.

  • Manaia Ogbechie had 11 kills and five blocks, Maggie Rhew finished with 29 assists, eight digs and two aces, Emma Robinson had nine digs, Masina Ogbechie had three blocks, Hailey Wilson had eight digs, Jady Mape had six kills, and Madelyn Downen added four kills for Oaks Christian in its 25-18, 25-13, 22-25, 26-24 loss to La Canada in a nonleague match to end the regular season. The Lions (20-8), ranked No. 16 in CIF-SS Division 1/2, will head to the postseason after winning the Marmonte League for the third straight time.

GIRLS GOLF

  • Oak Park had five players shoot in the 70s to take a commanding lead after the first round of the Coastal Canyon League tournament at Sterling Hills Country Club. Nina Xu finished second with an 18-hole total of 72, Joanna Hong and Sailor Graham each shot a 75 to tie for third, Lily Huynh was sixth with a 77, Madeleine Kim was eighth with a 79, and Bianca Magnifico was 10th with an 83 for the regular-season champion Eagles, who finished with a team total of 376. Aidan McCleneghan of Simi Valley is in first place overall after firing a 70 and teammate Kiley Reisner placed fifth with a 76. Me Li Root was seventh with a 78 and Kai Aparicio of Camarillo was ninth with an 80. The top 10 players after the second and final 18-hole round, which will be played next week at Olivas Links Golf Course, qualify for the CIF-SS Individuals. Simi Valley is second with a team total of 425 and Camarillo is third with a 454. Ashley Dunbar shot an 88 to lead fourth-place Moorpark (477) and Christian Lim had a 90 to lead fifth-place Royal (533).

  • Jayden Peters earned medalist honors with a 1-over 35, Lillian Spratt shot a 36 and Addison Kloch had a 39 to lead Agoura to a 202-220 win over Westlake in a Marmonte League match at Los Robles Greens Golf Course. Katelyn Brozowski led the Warriors with a 42.

  • Hailey Katofsky was the medalist with a 39 and Lyla Fronk had a 46 to lead Calabasas to a 278-286 win over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League match at Los Robles Greens Golf Course. Kat Van Tassell shot a 48 and Kambria Mastro had a 51 for the Panthers.

  • Audrey Yoong fired a 38, Piper Singleton shot a 40, Bella Baum had a 51, and Zoe Bellanca and Phoebe Hopps each shot a 56 as Foothill Tech (7-3, 4-0) defeated St. Bonaventure to clinch the Tri-Valley League title.

  • Sierra Engel was the medalist with a personal-best 39, Meg Hampton finished with a 41, Avery Wells had a 43, and Annabelle Shilley shot a 46 to lead Buena (11-4) to a 225-249 win over Santa Barbara in a nonleague match between Channel League teams.

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL

  • Channel Islands defeated Hueneme 20-7.

  • Rio Mesa defeated Oxnard 22-14.

GIRLS TENNIS

  • Oaks Christian defeated Newbury Park 11-7 to improve to 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the Marmonte League.

  • Oak Park defeated Simi Valley 15-3 in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Royal defeated Moorpark 11-7 in a Coastal Canyon League match.
