Thunder vs. Pelicans: How to watch, TV channel, start time (Jan. 6)

The Oklahoma City Thunder are getting a rematch against the New Orleans Pelicans. On New Year’s Eve, the Thunder fell by 33 points to New Orleans.

This will be Oklahoma City’s third game of a five-game roadtrip. The team is 1-1 so far during this stretch, beating the Orlando Magic by nine points on Saturday and losing to the Miami Heat by 28 on Monday.

The Pelicans (4-3) lost by two points on Monday after the Indiana Pacers overcame a six-point deficit with 25 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to force overtime and get the win over New Orleans.

Here are the details of how to watch:

Opponent: New Orleans Pelicans

Thunder's last matchup vs. Pelicans

The Thunder kept the first game between the teams fairly close throughout most the game, trailing by seven points with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, but a 6-1 Pelicans run to end that frame was the beginning of the end. OKC only scored seven points in the entire fourth quarter. Al Horford was the only Thunder player who scored more than 10 points as he posted 17. His six rebounds tied Isaiah Roby for a team-high. Brandon Ingram led the game with 20 points in 26 minutes while Zion Williamson scored 12 in 17 minutes.

Pelicans' season

The Thunder's timing of playing against New Orleans has been unfortunate. In the first game, the Pelicans were coming off a 25-point loss to the Phoenix Suns in which they had at one point trailed by as many as 40. They came out strong against Oklahoma City. Now, they'll look to have that same energy against another tough loss but in an entirely different manner. The loss to the Pacers was just the third team in league history that a team led by six with 25 seconds or fewer remaining and lost, according to ESPN's Andrew Lopez. Oklahoma City will face a team that's fired up.
