Texas A&M OL Chase Bisontis makes Preseason True Freshman All-American Team

Plenty of eyes will be on a promising group of incoming talents once the 2023 college football season starts, including one skilled offensive lineman suiting up for Texas A&M.

247Sports released its 25-player Preseason True Freshman All-American Team on Thursday, and representing the Maroon and White was offensive lineman Chase Bisontis. The Ramsey, NJ prospect out of Don Bosco Prep was a four-star recruit ahead of committing to the Aggies. At the same time, 247Sports ranked Bisontis as its No. 2 interior offensive lineman and No. 72 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Bisontis was classified as the No. 1 interior offensive lineman and the No. 46 overall player in the 2023 cycle.

Bisontis stands alone as a handful of other true freshmen could have been considered for the list, including running back Rueben Owens, defensive lineman DJ Hicks, and cornerback Jayvon Thomas. The accolade comes from numerous praise handed to the freshman from his peers, including graduate tight end Max Wright earlier in the spring.

While Bisontis will have to work for significant snaps in year one, given that the offensive line as a whole will see the return of a handful of starters, he’ll be leaned heavily on nonetheless to provide depth should inefficiencies or injuries once again pose an obstacle this season.
