Texas A&M’s 2024 class leaps into the top 10 within On3’s recruiting rankings

There’s an old saying that only three things in life are certain: death, taxes, and Texas A&M pulling in another top-10 recruiting class.

Headlining their recent recruiting hot streak, which is still running full steam ahead, with the addition of five-star wide receiver Cam Coleman, Texas A&M’s 2024 class jumped five spots to No. 9 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. That puts the Aggies just ahead of Penn State to round out the top 10.

Georgia (No. 1), Florida (No. 3), and Alabama (No. 4) are the only SEC teams ahead of the Maroon and White in On3’s rankings for the 2024 cycle.

Coleman is the first five-star prospect to commit to Texas A&M in this cycle and headlines a recruiting class with seven other blue-chip commits. With Coleman’s Fourth of July fireworks commitment, the Aggies passed up SEC rivals LSU and Tennessee in the latest rankings.

Texas A&M’s latest jump in On3’s recruiting rankings comes from making similar seismic leaps in both 247Sports and ESPN‘s college football 2024 recruiting rankings. After a slow start through to begin the month of June, in which casual observers were keen to note that SEC competitors were outworking the Aggies on the recruiting trail, the Maroon and White compiled an emphatic response.

Four-star wide receiver Drelon Miller and four-star wideout Jaylan Hornsby are just two of the names that highlight the eight commitments the Aggies have received since June 22. The momentum won’t be stopping soon as five-star athlete/wide receiver Terry Bussey, who recently placed the Aggies in his Top 5 program list, looked to be very intrigued after Coleman’s commitment.

Jimbo Fisher and his staff deserve plenty of credit for their work in racking up Texas A&M’s recent commitments, and it’s clear they are well on their way to bringing another top-15 class to College Station. At this rate, a top-15 class feels like a given, and the true debate may lie in whether the Aggies boast a potential top-five class once all is said and done.
