DAN WETZEL: Texas blows me away here. This is what they wanted, right? They didn't need to move because of money. They got all the money.

PAT FORDE: Right.

DAN WETZEL: They didn't need to move because their path to a title was better in the Big 12. They moved for excitement, or I don't know what. You know, and look, I think they're 91 and 79 since 2010. So it's kind of comical, right?

They lost to Kansas a couple of years ago. But they got tired of playing these teams. And 2024, with Arch Manning as the projected starter quarterback, they have at least four games that will be the biggest game of the week.

First off, they're at Michigan second week of the season. I mean, brand-wise, can't really get much bigger. Fantastic. At Michigan, great non-conference game. That's the kind of games we need.

Georgia will probably visit two weeks after that. Then you got Red River, always the biggest game. And then the big one, they return the rivalry with A&M. But, like, I don't care if those two teams are both like 5 and 6 at the time. This is going to be phenomenal.

They also have to go to Arkansas to renew that rivalry, which was one of the biggest rivalries in the country back in the day. Now, you may go 2 and 4 in these six games. 3-- you go 4 and 2 in that slate, you're going to win at Michigan against Georgia, neutral site Dallas at A&M? Arch better be Peyton.

PAT FORDE: Yeah, it's-- I mean, it's going to be phenomenal for Texas. And they better be ready. That's-- I think this is a very important season for Texas in terms of ramping up and establishing some credibility before going into this. Because they have been little other than mediocre for more than a decade.

But yeah, those games-- I mean, I'm telling you, the Arkansas game, they better come correct to Fayetteville. Because Arkansas will be ready for that one.
