Lady Vols basketball heads to Huntsville, Alabama, to face an in-state opponent.
Tennessee (4-4) plays Middle Tennessee State (6-3) on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+) at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center. The Lady Vols are coming off two losses to ranked opponents and MTSU is coming off a loss to Belmont on the road.
The matchup is the first of a four-game series agreed to by both programs. The series will be played in Knoxville in 2024 and 2026 and in Murfreesboro in 2025. Tennessee leads the all-time series 22-0, the last win coming in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament during coach Kellie Harper's second season.

Tennessee has been without star forward Rickea Jackson for six games. Jackson has been sidelined with a lower leg injury, and was not wearing a boot on her right foot at the game Sunday. Assistant coach Samantha Williams posted a video of Jackson dressed for practice and shooting 3-pointers in the practice facility Monday, signaling significant progress in Jackson's recovery.
