Tennessee football commit Kaleb Beasley stars in Lipscomb Academy win over Catholic

Four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley has done a little bit of everything in a must-win game for Lipscomb Academy at Knoxville Catholic on Friday night.

Beasley, a Tennessee football commit, has two interceptions on defense, returned a blocked kick for at TD and caught a touchdown for the Mustangs, who entered the game winless in Division II-AAA East Region.

Lipscomb Academy defeated Catholic 33-10 to improve to 3-5 overall, 1-2 in DII-AAA East Region. Catholic dropped to 5-3, 1-2. Catholic was coming off a 47-42 win over Brentwood Academy.

Entering Week 9, Lipscomb Academy and Brentwood Academy were the lone region teams without a league win.

Beasley gave Lipscomb Academy a 33-10 lead in the first quarter when he returned a blocked field goal attempt 73 yards for a TD. He also had three catches for 45 yards and caught a 37-yard TD pass from Jackson Kilburg, who is the third Lipscomb QB to start a game this season joining former player Deuce Knight and Tav Shaffer.

Kilburg was 16-of-30 passing for 174 yards with a TD and an interception. Zekharyah Crockett had 13 carries for 78 yards with two TDs for the Mustangs. Jayden Neal went 10-of-25 passing for 136 yards to lead Catholic. He had two interceptions.

Beasley now has three interceptions for the season. He has four total touchdowns for the season for Lipscomb Academy. He has the sixth-highest rating of all Tennessee football commits for the Class of 2024.
