Taylor Swift might be the only one keeping Packers ticket prices afloat for Lambeau game

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers-Los Angeles Rams game at Lambeau Field might be one of the least-anticipated matchups of the season — so far — after both teams lost Sunday in convincing fashion.

Meanwhile, prices for the Dec. 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs are holding up, but that likely has little to do with football.

The average get-in price for Sunday's noon game against the Rams was $101 on Monday, down from $137 last week. The price is determined by averaging the lowest prices at 11 secondary marketplaces. The $101 average is $28 below face value for the cheapest tickets at Lambeau Field.

The Packers, who lost their fourth consecutive game on Sunday, were expected to be in a rebuilding year, so Green Bay fans were prepared to live with more than the usual amount of losses as long as the team looked like it was improving. Instead, the Packers appear to be losing ground with its young roster.

Meanwhile, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford left Sunday's 43-20 loss to Dallas with a thumb injury and his status is uncertain for this weekend. The Rams are 3-5 and have played inconsistently this season. Also, it will be their fourth trip in three years to Lambeau Field, where they are 0-5 since 2007. That likely won't encourage Rams fans to travel to Green Bay.

Secondary marketplace TicketSmarter said it had tickets starting at $86, and the average price was $226. If the Packers keep playing as they are, prices for the rest of the season might not be much higher. TicketSmarter said its get-in prices for the remaining home games are $101 for the Los Angeles Chargers, $162 for the Kansas City Chiefs, $80 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and $78 for the Chicago Bears.

Taylor Swift ticket watch

About that Chiefs game: Football fans might be weary of the Taylor Swift hype, but ticket holders for the Dec. 3 game could end up being grateful to Travis Kelce's girlfriend. Her possible appearance at Lambeau Field, along with that of the world's greatest gymnast, Simone Biles, might be the only thing propping up ticket prices, which could matter to fans who've decided they don't want to see Swift, Biles or the Packers.

Swift did not attend the Kansas City-Denver game on Sunday and the Broncos won — make of that what you will. Swift was preparing to return to her Eras Tour, which kicks off in South America on Nov. 9, and ends on Nov. 26, providing plenty of time to make her way to Lambeau Field.

Biles is married to Packers safety Johnathan Owens and has said she'll attend the game. She was at the Packers-Vikings game on Sunday.

Note that ticket brokers can add fees on top of the prices listed here, so actual costs might be higher.

The Packers announced they will sell standing-room-only tickets for all home games this season. The face value of SRO tickets is $93. The SRO section is on the fourth level of the south end zone.

As the standing-room-only tickets are designated as not available for resale, any tickets found on the secondary market cannot be verified, so buyers should proceed at their own risk. If fans purchase standing-room-only tickets on the secondary market and encounter issues with the tickets, their only recourse would be to contact the ticket seller.

The following are secondary market ticket prices as of Oct. 30:

Nov. 5, noon, Lambeau Field, Los Angeles Rams, Fox

Face-price range: $129-$165

Average lowest-cost seat: $101

Price on Oct. 23: $137

Range of lowest-cost seats: $77-$146

Rams results: Los Angeles is 3-5. The Rams were defeated 43-20 Sunday by the Dallas Cowboys.

What matters about this game?: Less and less, as it turns out. The Rams are third in their division and unable to put together consistent performances, and the Packers ... well.

Nov. 12, noon, Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh Steelers, CBS

Face-price range: N/A

Average lowest-cost seat: $186

Price on Oct. 23: $211

Range of lowest-cost seats: $151-$219

Steelers results: Pittsburgh is 4-3. The Steelers lost 20-10 on Sunday to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

What matters about this game?: The Steelers stumbled on Sunday, as their quarterback left the game early because of a rib injury. The Steelers are in the most competitive division in the NFL — Baltimore is 6-2 and the Steelers, Browns and Bengals are all 4-3 ― so their fans have reason to remain engaged.

Nov. 19, noon, Lambeau Field, Los Angeles Chargers, Fox

Face-price range: $129-$165

Average lowest-cost seat: $136

Price in on Oct. 23: $146

Range of lowest-cost seats: $93-$210

Rams results: Los Angeles is 3-4. The Chargers defeated the Chicago Bears 30-13 on Sunday.

What matters about this game?: The second and final regular-season Gold package game of the season probably will be better attended by Packers fans than the first game, on a Thursday night in September against the Lions. Packers fans were alarmed by the number of Lions fans at Lambeau Field. The Lions are leading the division and hold more promise than in many years, which makes the game after this one pricey, too.

Also, it would be a surprise Chargers fans traveled to this game in numbers anywhere near those of Detroit or Minnesota on Sunday.

Nov. 23 (Thanksgiving), 11:30 a.m., Ford Field, Detroit Lions, Fox

Face-price range: N/A

Average lowest-cost seat: $351

Price in August: $246

Range of lowest-cost seats: $268-$447

Lions results: Detroit is 6-2. The Lions defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 26-14 on Monday.

What matters about this game?: At TicketSmarter, this game is at a $349 get-in price with an average of $625. That is the most expensive Lions home game by far. It is the first game of an NFL triple-header on Thanksgiving Day. It's early enough to allow Lions fans to get home for a late Thanksgiving meal and more football.
