Tad Boyle and the Buffs land Yale transfer Jalen Gabbidon

The Colorado Buffaloes basketball team must be anticipating Jabari Walker’s departure to the NBA.

With the NBA Combine taking place and Walker impressing during his time there, the Buffs brought in a talented player in the transfer portal.

The Buffs added Yale transfer Jalen Gabbidon, who will step right in and should be an immediate contributor for the Buffs next season.

Tad Boyle’s group lost a few players, including Elijah Parquet to UNLV and Keeshawn Barthelemy to Oregon, not to mention Evan Battey and likely Walker.

So, the addition of Gabbidon is a big one, and the Yale grad transfer will spend his final collegiate season in Boulder.

Gabbidon could immediately slot into the starting five, as he averaged 11.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists on 48% from the field for Yale this past season.

Gabbidon just graduated from Yale over the weekend, and on Monday, he decided to join the Buffs, so new beginnings indeed.

So, even though the Buffs have seen a number of players depart from Boulder after a strong season in 2021-2022, reinforcements are on the way, and there is no reason why Colorado shouldn’t be a contender in the Pac-12 next season.
