Studs and duds from Ravens 37-3 win over Seahawks in Week 9
The Ravens moved to 7-2 on the season after a 37-3 win over Seattle that dropped the Seahawks to 5-3.
The blowout was close early, with good defense from both teams leading to a scoreless first quarter before the Baltimore offense struck first on an 81-yard drive capped by running back Gus Edwards.
Edwards then put the Ravens up 14-0, scoring from three yards out before the teams traded turnovers and field goals.
John Harbaugh’s team scored 20 unanswered points in the second half, allowing the backups and reserves to see snaps.
With a matchup against Cleveland looming, we’re looking at the studs and duds from the 37-3 win in Week 9.
Stud-- RB Keaton Mitchell
The Ravens closed out the third leading 30-3, as Mitchell scored on a dazzling run from 40 yards out — the team’s first 20-plus-yard rushing touchdown in the past 17 games.
Overall, Mitchell logged 138 yards and a touchdown.
Stud-Gus Edwards
Edwards saw his snaps diminish again, but he finished with 52 rushing yards and two scores.
Stud--Odell Beckham
The veteran wide receiver has maintainted a positive attitude through some frustrating momments and capped the blowout win by catching his first touchdown as a Raven to finish the day with five receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Dud-Zay Flowers
You can’t always be spectacular, and the rookie wide receiver had his first lackluster outing, seeing just one target, which he caught for 11 yards.
Stud--Ravens cornerbacks
DK Metcalf had the one catch for 50-yards, but prior to that explosive play, Marlon Humphrey and Brandon Stephens all but held the Seahawks duo in check. Tyler Lockett finished with 3 catches for 32 yards.
Stud--Kyle Van Noy
Van Noy made the most of his 20+ snaps, logging 2 sacks and forcing a fumble.
Stud--Ravens pass rushers, Defensive line
Baltimore’s pass rush was dominant, with Justin Madubuike and Odafe Oweh registering a sack each, Kyle Van Noy securing two and forcing a fumble, and Travis Jones, Michael Pierce and Jadeveon Clowney combining for four batted passes.
Studs- Roquan Smith/Patrick Queen
Defense is a team thing, but in Baltimore, everything starts with Patrick Queen and Roquan Smith, and the two star held Seattle in check.
Smith and Queen combined for 11 tackles and 1 tackle for loss, while holding the Seahawks duo of Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet to 13 carries for 24 yards.
STUDS--Todd Monken/Mike MacDonald
The Ravens coordinators get a game ball for dominating at both ends of the spectrum. On offense, Monken’s run-pass balance was immaculate, with Baltimore passing the ball 33 times, as opposed to 40+ rushing attempts. Monken’s offense amassed 515 total yards, including 298 on the ground, while imposing their physicality.
Speaking of physicality, the Ravens defense held a solid Seattle offense to 151 total yards on 47 total offensive plays.
