Strikers, keepers and champs: 2023 Patriot Ledger/Enterprise Boys Soccer All-Scholastics
The later stages of the MIAA boys soccer state tournaments were littered with contenders from the South Shore.
As were the winners circles.
After enduring seismic offseason departures, Oliver Ames repeated as Div. 2 champs behind senior Joey Carney's overtime winner that settled a 1-0 final over Wakefield.
Norwell defeated Pembroke, 5-4, to claim the Div. 3 crown as senior Joshua Kue delivered the deciding goal in a penalty kick shootout.
Weymouth (15-5-3, Div. 1 Final Four), Hingham (19-2, Div. 2 Elite Eight), Cohasset (15-4-2, Div. 3 Elite Eight). In Weymouth's case, its 3-1 loss to Concord-Carlisle -- the eventual champ -- was its second consecutive appearance in the semifinals, its furthest tournament stride since 2012. For Cohasset, this year marked its third straight trip to the Elite Eight.
