Stewarts Creek DB Nigel Maynard commits to Pittsburgh football

Nigel Maynard, a Stewarts Creek three-star cornerback, has committed to Pitt football.

He made the announcement Saturday on Twitter.

Maynard, the No. 37 player in Tennessee for the Class of 2024, according to the 247Sports Composite, picked the Panthers over Michigan, Duke, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and others.

Maynard, a 6-foot, 180-pound athlete, was an All-Region 4-6A selection in 2022. He gave up just four catches and broke up 11 passes. He intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble for the Red Hawks, who finished 5-6 last season with a Class 6A first-round playoff loss to Coffee County.
