Stark County-area high school football stats leaders through 4 weeks of 2023 season

A special season is shaping up in Canton Township, and a big reason is the quarterback putting up special numbers.

In this first edition of the Stark County-area high school football stats for the 2023 season, Canton South senior Poochie Snyder is pulling off the rare feat of leading the county in passing and rushing. Snyder's 587 rushing yards lead another quarterback, Sandy Valley's Nick Petro by 64 yards. His 1,019 passing yards lead Jackson's Lucas Ecrement by 72 yards (West Branch's Beau Alazaus leads the broader area with 1,175 passing yards).

Snyder, who has helped South to a 4-0 record, also nears some county history. He is 625 yards and 24 touchdowns from besting the all-time county passing records of Sandy Valley's Cameron Blair.
