Spencer Jones headlines Yankees' 2024 Spring Breakout roster

The Yankees’ roster for the inaugural MLB Spring Breakout, which will showcase prospects from all 30 teams and will take place between March 14-17, was announced on Thursday morning, with power-hitting outfielder Spencer Jones headlining the group.

The Yankees prospects will take on the Toronto Blue Jays prospects in a seven-inning game on March 16 at 1:05 p.m. at George Steinbrenner Field.

For the Bombers, their roster will feature three of MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 overall prospects for 2024, including Jones (No. 84), shortstop Roderick Arias (No. 86), and RHP Chase Hampton (No. 92).

Jones, who was recently reassigned to minor league camp, made headlines during his time with the big club this spring by hitting a 470-foot home run in his Grapefruit League debut against Detroit.

In total, Jones slashed .467/.556/.733 with one home run, four RBI and 11 total bases in 15 at-bats before getting assigned to the minors.
