SouthCoast in Action: Whaling City Youth Baseball action from May 8-12

Here's a look at action from the Whaling City Youth Baseball League from May 8-12:

Monday, May 8

Apex Electrical 13, A.C.G. 7: Nick Frias scored three runs hitting out of the leadoff spot. Ethan Dube also had three hits as did his teammate Ben Clough. Cayson Stupalski hit his first home run of the season as well to help “power” the Electric Company to another win and improve to 3-0 on the season. For A.C.G., Ryan Maclean and Ty Ross both had a fine game with each rapping out multiple hit. Table 8 Restaurant 18, Kitchens & Baths 4: Carter Bolarinho went 4-for-4 at the plate and knocked in six runs, while teammates Tae Rose and Nico Tripp had key hits for Table 8 to help get the offense going. Bolarinho and Tripp both combined on the mound to limit K&B to just four hits while striking out eight, to help capture their first win of the season. James Reardon, Myles Sequeria and Evan Souza had hits for K&B. Dave’s 4, T.S. Sports 2: Donavan Libby struck out 16 Dave’s hitters and only allowed three hits. He pitched a fantastic game but came out on the wrong end of the decision in spite of his excellent performance. Richie Gaskins and Sean Pimental combined on the mound for Dave’s to secure the win. Gaskins, Pimental and Logan Bielski had hits for Dave’s, with Bielski knocking in three runs.

Tuesday, May 9

DeBross Oil 12, N. B. Fire 0: Jaiden Hebert and Parker Pacheco combined to toss a one-hitter for DeBross. Reed LaPlante remained hot at the plate rapping out two hits, as did his teammate Hebert. Logan and Parker Pacheco, Max Mutnansky, and Austin Rodrigues all checked in with meaningful hits to help the Oilers improve to 3-0 on the season. Rylan Kelley continued his steady play for the Fire Department with his team's lone hit. Tremblay Bus 18, South Coast Towing 3: Tucker Wilcox, Cam Riccio, Sam Sonnenburg, Syncere Lugo, and Isaac Teixeira all had multiple hits for the Bus Company. Sonnenburg and Wilcox combined to limit South Coast to just one hit, a third inning base-hit off of the bat of the Tow Company’s Brayden Douglass. Sam Sonnenburg knocked in four runs to support his team’s victory. Palace Pizza 1, Wonder Bowl 1: This game can only be described for what it was, an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel. Landon Jadlowe and Nyzaial Caban combined to limit Palace Pizza to only two hits, both of those hits came off the bat of Liam Cubero of Palace who is off to great start with the bat this season. Not to be outdone, the Pizza Crew’s Aiden Girouard tossed a complete-game “gem” as he struck out 16 Wonder Bowl hitters while allowing just one hit, which came off of the bat of opposing pitcher Landon Jadlowe. An outstanding game that went seven full innings and concluded in a 1-1 tie.

Wednesday, May 10

A.C.G. 5, Table 8 Restaurant 0: Ty Ross tossed a complete-game two-hitter in picking up the win for A.C.G. He struck out 14 Table 8 hitters along the way to the win. Tae Rose and Nico Tripp accounted for the Table 8 hits. Ross also knocked in the game-winning run with a third inning hit that scored his teammate Ryan Maclean, who reached base just before him. With the win, ACG captured their first win of the season. Daves 22, Palace Pizza 9: In a game that was a high-scoring affair, Dave’s rapped out 14 hits. The offensive explosion was led by Jeremiah Ramos who went 5-for-5 and scored four times. Logan Bielski, Dom Padilla, and Angelo Debortoli all had key hits for Daves as well. Also, Brayden Bielski and Alex Bilhete checked in with their first career hits. Sylas Jorge and Liam Cubero scored three runs each for Palace Pizza. South Coast Towing 3, Amaral’s Linguica 2: Jose Martinez Jr. was the winning pitcher for South Coast as he pitched six innings, scattering four hits while striking out 14. For Amaral’s, Jack Fleurent and Ben Bernardo combined on the mound to make it tough on the Tow Company striking out eight. However South Coast did have the bats ready as Martinez Jr. and Avery Viera would rip two hits each, and Reese Butler would knock in the eventual game-winning run, driving in Calvin Chandler with a fourth inning base-hit to secure the win.

Thursday, May 11

LeBeau’s 14, Wonder Bowl 4: Ben Viera had three hits and three RBIs while Lucas Souza and Mason Graveson combined on the mound to limit Wonder Bowl to just three hits in the game. Souza chipped in with a single and scored twice to help lead LeBeau’s to the win. Kaleb Braga and Tanner Cabral had hits for Wonder Bowl. Apex Electrical 13, Amaral’s Linguica 0: Nick Frias went 3-for-3 while Ben Clough and Akiiraley Vasquez had two hits each, and Leah Frias checked in with her very first career hit as well to help the Electric Company to remain undefeated. Cayson Stupalski and Dakota Gamage combined to throw a no-hitter for Apex.

Friday, May 12

T. S. Sports 7, N.B. Fire 3: Donovan Libby hit his first home run of the season. Yaniel Fernandes doubled and scored twice, Jackson Libby and Carter Correia chipped in offensively for T. S. Sports as well. Fernandes was the winning pitcher, tossing a complete-game for T.S. Sports. Rylan Kelly had two hits and an RBI for N. B. Fire. Tremblay Bus 16, Kitchens & Baths 7: Syncere Lugo had three hits, Cam Riccio and Isaac Teixeira had two hits each as did Sam Sonnenburg, and Tucker Wilcox doubled and knocked in two runs to lead the Bus Company to yet another win. Evan Sousa continued his fine play for K & B with a two-hit performance. DeBross Oil 4, LeBeau’s 4: Ben Viera pitched a complete-game three-hitter for LeBeau’s as he helped his own cause with two hits and an RBI. Lucas Souza had two doubles and the game-tying RBI. Reed LaPlante doubled for the Oilers and Logan Pacheco ripped two hits and knocked in two runs for DeBross, while Jaiden Hebert scored twice. The game ended in a tie between two teams that could quite possibly meet in the playoffs.
