South Dakota state individual wrestling tournament results, updates from Day 2

The South Dakota high school individual state championship wrestling tournament continued on Friday in the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.

Sturgis Brown ended day two where they ended day one: still atop the Class A boy's standings. The Scoopers ended day two with 180.5 points.

Three-time consecutive Class A state champions Brandon Valley dropped from third to fourth. Pierre and Aberdeen Central finished the day in second and third while West Central, Tea Area and Sioux Falls Lincoln all finished in the top 10.

On the day Canton wrestling coach Jeremy Ask was honored for his 25 years of service as a head coach in the sport, the C-Hawks jumped to first place in the Class B boys' standings, passing Philip/Kadoka Area/Wall. Canton leads Philip/Kadoka Area/Wall by 8.5 points entering Saturday.

Pierre remained in first place in the girls' standings, but Canton cut the deficit to only one point after trailing by over 27 after day one. Harrisburg finished day two in third but are nearly 40 points behind Canton.

Brandon Valley’s girls wrestling team dropped two spots from day one, ending day two in 10th place while Tea jumped two spots to 15th.
