The Gamecocks started the season 1-2 before securing 2 wins in favorable matchups against South Carolina State and Charlotte the last 2 weeks. South Carolina hasn’t gotten consistent play from QB Spencer Rattler, who has thrown for 1,120 yards, 4 TDs, and 7 INTs.

The Wildcats entered last week undefeated before falling to Ole Miss 22-19 in an important SEC matchup. QB Will Levis has been productive with 1,405 yards, 12 TDs and 4 INTs in 5 games.

Kentucky is the No. 13 team in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

South Carolina at Kentucky picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 31, South Carolina 20

Moneyline

Go ahead and PASS on the moneyline in this game despite Kentucky looking like the superior team. The odds aren’t worth taking in this game as taking the Wildcats straight up won’t net a return that makes it worth the risk.

Against the spread

KENTUCKY -5.5 (-115) is where I’m going in this game despite Levis being questionable to play with a finger injury. The Wildcats haven’t had much success running the ball this season, but RB Chris Rodriguez returned last week to rush for 72 yards and a TD on 19 carries.

Kentucky is 6-1-1 ATS in its last 8 games overall and the favorite in this matchup has gone 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. To put the cherry on top, South Carolina is 1-8 ATS in the last 9 meetings with Kentucky.

Over/Under

Even with Levis dealing with a finger injury, the Wildcats should have a well-balanced offense on Saturday that should put them in a position to put up a decent number of points. There’s also the chance that Rattler turns the ball over multiple times, setting Kentucky up with good field position to score.

Give me OVER 46.5 (-115) in this game as the Wildcats can score points in bunches. The Over has hit in 5 of the last 7 meetings between these 2 programs when the game takes place in Kentucky.
