Social media reacts as UConn rolls past Alabama in Final Four

Connecticut beat Alabama, 86-72, in the second NCAA men's basketball national semifinal Saturday night at State Farm Stadium. The No. 1 overall seeded Huskies will face Purdue in a heavyweight battle for the national championship Monday night.

UConn is aiming to become the first back-to-back national champions since Florida in 2006 and 2007. The Huskies have won five titles, all coming since 1999. With a win Monday, they would tie North Carolina for third-most championships, passing Duke and Indiana in the process.

Purdue, meanwhile, is aiming for its first NCAA Tournament crown. The Boilermakers won a title in 1932, before the creation of the tournament.

For Alabama, the final minutes Saturday were a disappointing end to the first Final Four trip in program history. The No. 4 seed Crimson Tide played UConn to a 56-56 tie with 12:40 left but couldn’t hang with the Huskies down the stretch.
