Social media reacts: Sam Pittman mum regarding Dan Enos’ future
Sam Pittman and Dan Enos go back a way. When they worked together at Arkansas under head coach Bret Bielema, the Razorbacks had one of the best offenses in the country.
Arkansas fans were hoping the reunification would allow the Razorbacks to take the next step in 2023.
It, uh, hasn’t worked.
Pittman was directly after Arkansas’ 7-3 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday whether he would consider any changes to his staff during the season. Pittman said he didn’t want to answer the question.
In other words, yes.
That doesn’t mean Dan Enos, in his first year back at Arkansas as offensive coordinator since the Bielema regime, will be let go. But the Razorbacks entered the MSU game 118th in total offense. After logging just 200 yards against the Bulldogs, that number is all but certain to fall further.
And the Hogs’ faithful were out in full force, accordingly.
Here are some of the best social-media reactions after Arkansas’ loss.
That's not a 'no'
I asked Sam Pittman if he'd consider an in-season staff change: "I don't really want to answer that."

Offensive coordinator Dan Enos is in his first year back at Arkansas after holding the same position for three years under Bret Bielema. Things haven’t gone to plan.
Burn it down, eh?
Fire Pittman. Fire Enos. Fire Fountain. Fire Kennedy. Unserious program

The six straight losses Arkansas has suffered are the program’s most since the – gulp – Chad Morris era.
Pittman knows his team is letting down a lot of people
Pittman" Biggest disappointment is that the state deserves better "
— Steve Sullivan (@sully7777) October 21, 2023
Arkansas is the only team that matters in the Natural State, with apologies to Arkansas State. A whole lot of people are disappointed.
We disagree
Arkansas is far and away the worst team in the SEC. Sam Pittman has ruined the Razorbacks.
— Josh (@OleDavis22) October 21, 2023
Not the worst. But may be the worst in the SEC West, after all.
That's...not good
SEC coaches starting in 2020 year 4:
Lane Kiffin: 5-1 #13 nationally
Eli Drinkwitz: 6-1 #20 nationally
Sam Pittman: 2-6

Pittman’s middle two seasons were better. But this is a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately sport.
Today on SEC Nation, Tim Tebow told Arkansas fans they need to be content with just being competitive under Sam Pittman.
Arkansas fans despise mediocrity and losing football.

Can’t say we totally disagree. But even in a four-point loss, that offense isn’t competitive whatsoever right now.
The only laugh for Arkansas today
ESPN Announcers:
“KJ Jefferson started the day with Louis Vuitton’s on his feet, but right now the offense is playing like they shop at Pay-Less.”
— Will Whitson (@will_whitson2) October 21, 2023
Credit where it’s due. That’s a pretty solid joke.
Looking ahead is fair
KJ Jefferson would be an interesting transfer portal entry after this putrid season in an offense that better suits his skill set. Still has one more year left.
— Brad Crawford (@BCrawford247) October 21, 2023
Few think he’s returning to Arkansas, but it’s way too early to tell.
How did it come to this?
The offense is dead and Dan Enos has killed it.
When you’ve reached the point where announcers are saying the route patterns don’t make sense, the halfbacks don’t look like they understand their blocking assignments, that there’s no identity, etc. you’ve reach death status.
— JC Hoops (@JacksonCollier) October 21, 2023
No, seriously. Is it a personnel mismatch to his style? There’s no way anyone thought Arkansas’ offense would be perhaps the worst in modern school history when Enos was hired.
May be limiting
Was just looking up Sam Pittman’s contract situation and he got an extra year because they won seven games last year. Woof. Add another $6 million to the buyout because they went 3-5 in the SEC and won the Liberty Bowl.
— Dan Wolken (@DanWolken) October 21, 2023
Whether you think Pittman deserves another year or not, this matter complicates things for Arkansas.
Basketball season is less than a month away
Does Eric Musselman know how to coach football too?
Asking for a friend.

Things aren’t all bad in Fayetteville.
