Social media reacts: Clemson leaving the ACC rumors resurface
Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program are currently worried about one thing… Week 5 against Syracuse.
Others, however, have Clemson’s future on their mind. In particular, their future in the ACC if they will move on from the conference.
Rumors have once again swirled around Clemson and its place in the conference, with an article from The Post and Courier ($) and writer Gene Sapakoff stating: “Stay very tuned, sooner than later.” While there is no confirmation of any news that Clemson has worked their way out of the ACC Grant of Rights, this news has re-lit the rumor mill.
Here is a look at how Twitter/X reacted to the rumors.

If I had to put my money on it it’s gonna be the SEC. Wouldn’t mind either though, anything’s better than the ACC https://t.co/gBIDWlX4E7

[Source] We have some clarity on how Clemson is getting out of the ACC Grant of Rights: Notre Dame intended to retain 11 attorneys to make sure it was ironclad but accidentally hired 10, leaving an opening for a Clemson lawyer to find a loophole.

Here it is:
"Stay very tuned," a Clemson senior administrator said when asked how soon a Clemson ACC departure could be announced.
"Sooner than later."
Will it be the Big Ten or the SEC for Clemson?
THEY. DID. IT.

Could the realignment just stop for a second, please? Florida State administrators said this weeks ago about the ACC. The latest from Clemson only echos and confirms what we already knew – this game of musical chairs is still going hot and heavy. Got your ducks in a row, USF? https://t.co/WBWaKptynC

It's no secret whatsoever that there are seven (and very likely several more) #ACC teams who want out sooner than later, and now several very solid #SEC sources telling us that #FSU, #Clemson, #UNC and #UVA could be a "block of four" who leave together for either the SEC or #B1G. pic.twitter.com/z33B1tkWaO

He was accurate on the Pac-12 implosion so he has merit.

The NCAA is going to implode. With Clemson, FSU, and other big schools set to leave the ACC, it’s a real possibility that the SEC and Big10 could create something of their own without the NCAA. The landscape of college sports will be a fun one to follow over the upcoming years.

Has #Clemson found the GOR loophole for the #ACC? It would appear so from several quality sources. #Clemson #FSU #UNC #UVA https://t.co/JdYjH6KbYH

.@Sapakoff's article mentions the belief is a strength in numbers approach that would feature multiple current ACC teams wanting "out" enhancing their chances of breaking the Grant of Rights.
UNC, Clemson, FSU, Miami, even GT mentioned.
Hence why the ACC expanded: survival.
