Sixers star Joel Embiid expected to return to the floor after road trip

The Philadelphia 76ers have not had the services of their best player since March 12 when Joel Embiid went down with a bone bruise in his left knee. The team has fared well as they have gone 6-3 without him, but they would obviously like to have the MVP candidate back out on the floor.

The team put out an update on the big fella on Wednesday as they got set to finish up a long 6-game road trip on Thursday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Embiid will be out for Thursday’s game, but he continues to ramp up his on-court basketball activities and he is expected to return on Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves back at home.

Getting Embiid back on the floor and getting him back into a groove for the final six weeks or so of the regular season is going to be important. Philadelphia will be looking to continue to grow their chemistry before the games really begin in the playoffs on May 22.
