Sixers send G Brown to D-League

The Philadelphia 76ers assigned guard Lorenzo Brown to the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League, the NBA club announced Thursday.

Brown, 23, played with the Springfield Armor of the D-League earlier this season before the 76ers signed him as a free agent Nov. 20.

In 13 games with Philadelphia, Brown averaged 3.2 points and 1.8 assists in 10.9 minutes per game. He did not get on the court in the 76ers' past two games.

The return of guard Michael Carter-Williams from a knee infection figured to end any chance Brown had of remaining in the playing rotation.

The 76ers return from a weeklong Christmas break when they play the Lakers in Los Angeles on Saturday.
