Sixers’ Joel Embiid diagnosed with meniscus injury, will remain out

The Philadelphia 76ers received the results of the MRI and evaluation of Joel Embiid’s knee injury that he has been dealing with as of late. The big fella missed two games due to left knee soreness and then returned against the Golden State Warriors before leaving the game early.

The MRI reveals that Embiid has an injury to the lateral meniscus in his left knee. He will be out at least through the weekend while the Sixers come up with a treatment plan for him going forward.

Embiid is out for Thursday’s road matchup with the Utah Jazz and will miss at least Saturday’s contest against the Brooklyn Nets at home. The Sixers will then play host to the Dallas Mavericks at home on Monday.

Philadelphia has to hope that Embiid won’t miss too much time. The Sixers are 3-9 in games that he misses and if he does miss a lot of time, they will have to find ways to win consistently without him.
