Sixers guard Seth Curry is out vs. Nets, Doc Rivers says he’s day-to-day

The Philadelphia 76ers will visit the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night in what was originally expected to be a marquee matchup. The Nets are led by superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and the Sixers are led by Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. It was supposed to be an early season test for both.

Instead, the Nets will be without Durant, who is in quarantine due to the league’s health and safety protocols, and Irving is out due to personal reasons. The Sixers are missing a key part of their team as well.

Seth Curry will miss the game with left ankle soreness after originally being questionable for the game. He is shooting a blistering 59.5% from deep to begin the season, and the Sixers will need to find somebody to step in for him.

“I think it was in the game, yesterday,” said coach Doc Rivers. “I think somewhere in the fourth quarter late. As far as how long he’ll be out, my guess is day-to-day. I don’t think it’s a severe injury, but it’s the right thing to do.”

The Sixers and the Nets will tip off at 7:30 p.m. EST as the team gets set to continue to take more steps forward as a team.
