Sixers guard Matisse Thybulle gives an update on his hand injury

Sixers guard Matisse Thybulle gives an update on his hand injury

The Philadelphia 76ers will need all hands on deck when they enter the postseason as they get set for what they hope will be a deep playoff run. They are the No. 1 seed in the East for the first time since the Allen Iverson days of 2001 and they are looking to chase a title.

The Sixers have been dealing with injuries to a variety of players in their lineup, but as they continue to go through some sort of a second training camp heading into the postseason, they are getting a bit healthier.

Matisse Thybulle missed the last four games of the season due to swelling in his left hand that he suffered on May 8 against the Detroit Pistons. Now that the playoffs are getting set to begin, the second-year guard out of Washington is feeling better.

“Check it out!” said Thybulle at practice on Tuesday by giving everybody a thumbs up. “It’s doing pretty good. It’s getting better.”

The intense practices have been good for Thybulle as the team gets set to prepare for the playoffs. It almost replaces the fact that he was not able to play in the games.

“It’s been intense and it’s been good,” he said. “It’s been really good for me just because it was hard to miss those games leading into playoffs. I really didn’t want to not have had any games under my belt before we went out there, but just with the intensity of practice and making it as literally as game-like as you can imagine, it makes me feel a lot more prepared than I was because of missing so many games so the intensity of practice has been really helpful.”

The Sixers are getting set to continue to practice and get ready for the postseason which will begin on Sunday for them. Having Thybulle in the lineup will be helpful.
