Sixers guard Danny Green out for rest of Game 6 vs. Heat due to knee injury

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers are facing elimination on Thursday against the Miami Heat at home in Game 6 and they need all hands on deck in order to get it done. For the Sixers to be successful on offense, they will need the floor to be spaced for the heavy lifters.

A big reason why the floor gets spaced is due to the presence of Danny Green. The 13-year veteran has been big for the Sixers with his shooting ability and his mere presence on offense makes things easier for Philadelphia on a regular basis.

However, early in Game 6, Green had Joel Embiid fall on his leg off a play and he was in a lot of serious pain. He was on the ground for a long time and he had to be carried to the locker room. The injury is serious enough to now he will not return to the game after hitting an early triple and he will also get an MRI on the injury.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers do have some serious concern about the severity of Green’s injury.

While the Sixers have some depth to replace the loss of Green for Game 6, it will be tough to replace him as the playoffs continue, if it does, for Philadelphia.
