Sixers’ Filip Petrusev’s agent says big man plans to be NBA-bound

The Philadelphia 76ers may have a young big man come over from Europe in the 2023 offseason. They selected a big man and he stayed overseas in order to develop.

They selected Filip Petrusev with the 50th pick in the 2021 NBA draft and he stayed overseas after playing for the Sixers in the summer league. He played for Anadolu Efes in the 2021-22 season and averaged 15.2 points and 6.2 rebounds. He then played for Crvena Zvezda in the Euroleague and averaged 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Petrusev’s agent told Basket News that the plan is for him to go to the NBA for the 2023-24 season:

“If he doesn’t sign in the NBA until August, then I’ll listen to Crvena Zvezda first because he really likes the environment there. In fact, I will not consider European options. I think that Filip will be in the NBA next season. If not, then, of course, he will be in Crvena Zvezda,” Raznatovic shared. “Of course, many may not like this, but this is the reality.”

Petrusev will likely play for the Sixers in the summer league in July. At that point, he and the Sixers will have to decide on what a contract will look like for him in the NBA.
